About LifeLine Animal Project
LifeLine Animal Project has the singular mission to stop the euthanasia of healthy and treatable dogs and cats in Atlanta area animal shelters. Sadly, more than 140,000 cats and dogs enter metro county shelters each year. Only a third of them leave the shelters alive.
LifeLine provides a safety net for thousands of Atlanta’s dogs and cats in need. And, by supporting the work of other rescue organizations and animal control agencies, we have established a network of hope that continues to grow.
Each year, nearly 500 dogs and cats come through our special care facilities, and everything you would want for your own beloved pet, we strive to provide for the homeless dogs and cats at LifeLine’s Dog House and Kitty Motel. We also make this special care available to local rescue groups seeking extra help for their own animals in need.
The LifeLine Spay & Neuter Clinics, our low cost, high-quality, high-volume clinics, have performed over 40,000 low-cost or no-cost spay/neuter surgeries. Additionally, LifeLine operates Catlanta, the only organized feral and stray cat assistance program in the area, which has provided more than 13,000 below-cost sterilizations and vaccinations for Atlanta’s feral and stray cat population.
Our website is home to the largest online pet adoption network in Atlanta. More than 50 shelters and rescue groups throughout the area post adoptable animals to our fully searchable database, which features over 1500 animals available for adoption each day in Atlanta.
At LifeLine, every life is precious. LifeLine is unique in providing effective high-volume programs – our spay and neuter efforts, our feral cat program, our support to county animal control shelters – while at the same time fulfilling the promise of life and love for every dog and cat who comes into our care. LifeLine is a no-kill organization and advocate.
All of our programs are made possible only through the help of Atlanta’s concerned pet lovers. With your help, we are building a lifesaving community – one animal at a time. And thanks to you, we can ensure a brighter future for all of Atlanta’s homeless pets.
